This week the Pops is performing and recording a crazy number of Pops tunes – mostly all old film scores. Spellbound by Miklós Rózsa is but one selection, and this guy will be playing a theremin (enter eerie alien sound).

Charles Richard Lester throws it down.

He did actually let me try it out and it is pretty interesting, although sometimes confusing to control your volume and pitch, and very strange to be playing an instrument without touching it. I’m sure as with all musicians, we each all have certain idiosyncrasies specific to our craft – and theremininistss are no exception. Let me know what you think the next time you run into one.
