Today included a round of birthdays for several friends – I admit, sometimes I am not so good at keeping in contact as much as I would like, but I’m pretty good at remembering birthdays. I called Miss Suzanne Morrello, whom I often refer to as my sister malahini, to wish her a happy one. We met in what feels like a lifetime ago at NRO, and bonded over TLow, baked spaghetti, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Suzanne has been living in NY during the time I’ve been in the ‘Nati, teaching music. I’ve come to find out she’ll be moving over to the other side of the pond, as it were, and it’s strange to think of a NYC without her. She’ll be moving to the UK at the end of her school year, and I couldn’t be happier, although I am slightly jealous (maybe it has something to do with the amazing guy with a killer British accent). I already have my bags packed, passport in hand – who’s coming with me?
