Ixi, Jeff and I attended the Taste of Cincinnati for our Memorial Day celebration duty. An event that brings out all sorts of crazy people, and where you buy small portions of food from completely health-code-violating shacks, eating it in the middle of the street while looking down all the vent holes and coming too close to gutters, manhole covers, and aged grease marks. Aside from the slightly alarming location, we tasted greek meat skewers, spanekopeta, baklava, buttered corn, pad thai, fried spring rolls, German potatoe pancakes, a berry crepe that made my day, and finally, cotton candy. (We could not resist that strange puffy creation of air and colored sugar…yummmmmmy.)
